What a travel router with VPN is
It is a small device you carry in your bag. You plug it into a network cable with Internet (in the hotel room, the rental or the office) and it creates your own WiFi. Everything that connects to that WiFi goes through the VPN automatically.
Why it beats an app on every device
- It covers devices without VPN apps: smart TVs, consoles, e-readers and streaming sticks.
- Your devices connect by themselves: they remember your WiFi, so wherever you plug the router in, they join it automatically.
- One device for everything: no apps to install, no one to forget to turn the VPN on.
- The same network everywhere: printers, laptops and phones find each other as they do at home.
When it makes sense
- Families travelling with several phones, tablets and a TV stick.
- Remote workers moving between hotels, coworkings and rentals.
- Students living in residences with shared networks.
- Anyone who wants to use the hotel TV with their own streaming device, safely.
How WiVPN does it
The WiVPN BOX is plug and play: connect it to an Internet cable and to power, and its WiFi appears within a couple of minutes. You can see and change the WiFi name and password, and choose the country you connect through, from your mivpn.net dashboard.
The WiVPN BOX includes the first year of VPN. It is currently sold and shipped within the European Union.
Tips for using it on the road
- Ask for a network port: many hotel rooms, offices and rentals still have one, sometimes behind the TV or the desk.
- Carry a short network cable in your bag.
- Keep your WiFi password to yourself, and change it from the dashboard if you share it.
